sunny day at the seaside

Two wedding-related shots:
in Cloonacauneen Castle

guess what was in that bag? :)

Barn Owl ‘Jess’
Doesn’t she look wise and pensive?
…
want to know what happened? We clipped her talons, they were razor sharp. She’d flown at my head before, when I was cleaning her aviary. Not pleasant, she just about hit me in between the eyes… so her talons got clipped. Like clipping fingernails for us, doesn’t hurt or harm the birds. Not that she particularly enjoyed it…
which is why she’s sulking in this shot.
Has to be one of my favourite shots from 2011!
There’s been far too much of this lately:

Boring, isn’t it? nothing but rain and wind, not even snow, and on the rare occasion that it IS sunny, well, I’m stuck in work! Infuriating, really. But what can you do, it’s winter, dark when you go to work, dark when you come out, raining at the weekends…
The good news is that I’ve turned my photographic eye to different subjects: food being one of them. In the run-up to Christmas, I’ve been doing a good bit of baking and made some pressies for people.
Peanut butter fudge,

Lemon Curd,

Caramel Sauce…

Tasty, don’t you think?
A shot from a while back:
Saker falcon ‘Milly’ in full hunting mode!

December, not long to go until Christmas…

which means… time for baking Christmas cookies! A very tasty tradition, if you ask me. And one that I’m more than happy to inflict on my Irish family!
love love love

I don’t even know what to say – I’m so, so happy! I’m married!

Cloonacauneen Castle – best venue ever!
And we had such an amazing day. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. Lots of fun, lots of laughter, dancing (once I’d ditched my heels), enough sunshine for beautiful photographs by the amazing Lisa, great food, great company, and the most wonderful husband of all.

Hello my dear friends,
I’ve been busy over the last few weeks, got things to plan, big things! But there’s still time for photography, there simply has to be time for it! So I make time for it. Like today, I took the macro lens out and spent some quality time with a beautiful bunch of flowers that I got on Friday :) My wonderful co-workers presented me with them because… well, I’m getting married next week! Which explains the busy-ness, and absence from here :) But that’s not all that’s new, I’ve also come up with a new logo for Greeneyedspirit Photography. (because planning a wedding isn’t enough to be doing, right?) What do you think?
