friendly fluff

This is the unnamed Great Grey Owl (Strix nebulosa) at the Burren Birds of Prey Center. Until last winter, he was part of a breeding pair, but unfortunately, his mate died during the harsh winter. The poor fellow is by himself now, but as far as I know, a new companion for him will soon be arriving!

  1. Great shot. I love owls – something about the way they look at you (often with quite a disdainful expression)! This chap is beautiful and I hope he can be introduced to new new mate soon.

  2. Your images are stunning, love, love!

  3. wooaaahh what a beautiful shot, beautiful colour to his/her eyes. You don’t see enough owls now a days, its a shame.
