Tall Ship Festival – Dublin

the Tall Ships came to Dublin, after an absence of 14 years. Hosting the tall ships for the final port of the race series, the ships lined the Liffey and drew crowds to the docks.
Amazing beauties, every one of them. I sailed on the ‘Greif’ for a day, when I was a little girl, and it’s a memory I cherish to this day.

Some of the ships took part in a parade of sails on Sunday, sailing Dublin Bay –

  1. Great that “Danmark” was visiting your tall-ship-festival – we have a long tradition of sailing sail-ships here – started with the vikings ;-)

  2. Magnificent! I have only seen smaller schooners. What a sight!

    • Thanks Scott, they’re an amazing thing to see alright. The Amerigo Vespucci is over 100 metres long, I think! real wow factor there.
